Zachary Oseland founded Vant Law PLLC to give injured people and growing businesses the kind of direct, senior-level counsel usually reserved for large institutions. He has spent more than 15 years as in-house counsel and senior advisor to real estate, litigation finance, and technology companies, and he currently serves as general counsel of a private multifamily real estate investment firm with $1.5 billion in assets under management.

In that role, he oversees all of the company's litigation and outside counsel, directs an $8 million annual insurance program and the claims that come with it, and has negotiated loan modifications with institutional lenders across eighteen properties. He has helped close $750 million of acquisitions in six months, directed sales and refinancings of thousands of apartments, and formed a $50 million investment fund.

Before that, Zachary was a director at a $150 million litigation finance fund, where he evaluated lawsuits as investments: weighing liability, damages, opposing counsel, and the judges involved to decide which cases were worth funding. Earlier, he helped lead a multifamily owner and operator through growth from $50 million to more than $1.5 billion in assets and from 20 to more than 400 employees. There he built the compliance department, advised the board and CEO, and managed the prosecution and defense of dozens of lawsuits, including personal injury claims. He also advised the founders of a real estate technology startup that reached $100,000 in monthly revenue within 60 days of launch.

Zachary began his career as a law clerk in the Complex Business Litigation Division of Florida's Thirteenth Judicial Circuit in Tampa.

That experience shapes how he practices. Injured clients benefit from a lawyer who has seen how insurers and defense teams evaluate claims from the inside. Business clients get a general counsel who has done the job and understands that legal advice has to work in the real world.

Zachary earned his law degree from Duke University School of Law and two bachelor's degrees, in political science and Spanish, from the University of Florida. He is a member of The Florida Bar. He has lived in Florida since 2003 and in Tampa since 2010, where he and his wife are raising their four children.
